馬小秋：選擇大於努力

在微信朋友圈裡常常看見這樣一句話：＂選擇大於努力＂，我認為這句話很有道理。一個正確的選擇，是走向成功的必然因素。但是怎樣才能真正地做出正確的選擇，這才是問題的關鍵所在。

I often see in WeChat Moments such a sentence that 「choice is more important than effort」. I think this sentence makes a lot of sense. A right choice is an inevitable factor of success. However, the crux of the matter lies in how we can make the right choice.

每個人都會面臨很多選擇，如：考學、擇業、戀愛、成家等等。然而在現實生活中，我們常常經歷十有八九不如人意的事情，我們的選擇時常出現意想不到的好的或者是不好的結果，這是為什麼呢？

Everyone is bound to be faced with many choices such as school entrance test, career selection, and lover, spouse and so on while we experience a lot of dissatisfactory things nine times out of ten in actual life. Our choices often bring good or bad results that were not unexpected previously. What』s the reason for this?

我認為選擇，其一需要智慧力。無我、利他是一種智慧，這一點說之容易做之難，許多人在＂我執＂、＂我見＂升起之後就全然不顧及別人的感受和利益，這時的私慾和膨脹欲，為自己今後的道路又設置了重重障礙，但當事人卻全然不知，這就是＂所知障＂的必然結果。用利他的方式而獲得他人的信任和擁護才是智慧的選擇。其二，需要功德力。專一、守信是建立功德力最起碼的道德標準，一個破壞了自身信譽的人是根本沒有立足之地的。其三、需要褔報力。樂善好施，助人為樂，凡事都為別人著想，這是獲得福報力最為有效的辦法。

I think that it requires wisdom, merit and blessing in order to make good choices. Anatman and altruism is a kind of wisdom which is easier said than done. Many people completely disregards the feelings and interests of the others after 「Egocentrism」 and 「Self-View」 uprise in their mind. Their desires and expansion set obstacles to their future road, but they』re completely unaware of this. This is the inevitable result of 「Noetic Hindrances」. To gain the trust and support of the others in an altruistic way is the wise choice. Secondly, merit is required. Dedication and trustworthiness are the minimum ethical standard for accumulating merit. It』s impossible for a person who spoils his or her own reputation to gain a footing in the world. Third, blessing is necessary. The most effective way to gain blessings is to be happy in doing good things and helping others and to always think of others.

我們當下所承受的不好的結果，都是我們起心動念所造就的；我們所擁有的好的回報，都是我們當下正確的所思、所想、所行而獲得的。

All the bad results that we bear currently are caused by our own mind and thought while all the good rewards we have at present are gained by our right thoughts and deeds.
