Painter Jiang Guorong has resided and worked in semi seclusion in the suburb of Chengdu, where he was born, for some five years.

過去五年的時間，油畫家蔣國蓉基本半隱居在位於家鄉成都郊外的工作室。

His studio is surrounded by various species of trees and a stream. Every morning, he wakes up in the joyful singing of birds.

那是一片樹木環繞的所在，小河潺潺。清晨，他在小鳥唧唧喳喳的歡唱中醒來。

When he feels tired, he seeks relaxation in a valley nearby, seeing the falling down of flowers and listening to the rustle of leaves in the breeze.

畫累的時候，他去到附近的山谷中休憩，看繽紛的落花，聽樹葉被微風吹過的呢喃。

He has been so much empowered by the trees and nature that he keeps painting them on canvas.

這一片鬱鬱蔥蔥不斷給予他力量，與賦予了他源源的創作靈感。

As I see Jiang s oils of those towering trees now at his solo exhibition at Space Station, all I can feel is refreshing, comforting and also, jealous.

他把工作室周圍的這些參天大樹「搬」到了北京空間站畫廊的個展上。看過以後我只覺得清涼、治癒，還有就是嫉妒。

He says, "When you observe trees for long, you will find that every tree grows differently. Their trunks and branches stretch out freely, and the leaves bring different looks to each tree."

他說：「長時間地觀察樹，你會發現每棵樹都不一樣。它們的枝幹在肆意地生長，樹葉給樹木各種各樣的形狀。」

"When I began painting them, I felt they were in a total mass, and I didn t know where to start. But gradually, I had a clearer view of them, and I imagined, I saw the order hidden behind."

「最開始畫的時候，會覺得雜亂無章，找不到頭緒。慢慢開始看得清楚以後，再加上你的想像，你就會發現後面藏著的次序。」

Most paintings on show depict a day view. Here is how Jiang describes the peaceful night of his Shangri-la: "In the still of night, the croaks and chirps sound even more lively. The moon rises and its light wakes up birds resting on trees. The splashes of their wings attract the attention of my dogs and they chase after the sounds."

多數畫表現的是白天的景色。對於夜晚的寧靜，畫家是這麼描述的：「夜更深，蛙叫蟲鳴更是熱鬧。月亮剛出，亮光一顯露，驚動了樹上夜宿的小鳥。它們翅膀撲騰的聲音，引起身邊的小狗去追。」

"Looking at the glittering stars and listening attentively to the joyful movements of all lives in nature, I feel enormously happy and eased."

「看著星空閃爍，細細地諦聽大自然各種生命的喜悅，心中暢快之極。」
