Recruitment of Post-doc Fellow (Bioinformatics on Nextgeneration sequencing)at the State KeyLaboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (Macau University of Scienceand Technology)

Job Description

We are seeking a talentedbioinformatician to join the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research inChinese Medicine (http://www.must.edu.mo/skl-tw), at the MacauUniversity of Science and Technology, to conductbioinformatics analysis on thewhole genome sequencing, RNA sequencing, RNA isoform sequencing and de novosequencing and metagenomics datausingthe illumina and the Pacific Biosciencesequencing platforms.Both human and herbal samples will be involved in theresearch projects.

Qualificationsand Experience

Applicants should have a degree inbiological or computer science, and provenprofessional programming experience.

Advanced knowledge ofat least one modern programming languageis required.

Knowledge of the following would be highly desirable: Drupal, Git, Linux,software testing, and Ensembl.

A background is research science is not requiredbut a working knowledge of, or strong personal interest inmolecular biology and genomicsis essential.

Maintaining communication with several collaborating teams is an important aspect of the role.

Good communication and interpersonal skills are thereforeessential.

A flexible mind-set, a capacity for independent work.

Acommitment to the delivery of a high-quality public service, are all required.

Salary Benefits

The initial contractis for a period of two years with the possibility of a fixed-term extension.

Themonthly salary is MOP22000-26000/month, annual leave and health insurance will be provided.
