美高留學黨去美國餐館點餐必知的英語
美國文化中很重要的一部分就是餐館文化。美國人喜歡在外邊吃飯，而且美國銀很少會自己做飯的，有的美國人喜歡點外賣，尤其是紐約人，有的人路過快餐店只是在車裡就完成了點餐，這點在許多美劇都有印證。
美國是個大熔爐所以美國文化也綜合了許多其他民族和國家的文化遺產，在餐飲上，許多其他國家文化下的飲食也進入了美國餐館。
而作為去美國留學的小夥伴們總會有機會去美國餐館享受大餐的，或是宴請賓客，或是參加派對，有的土豪留學黨們只是為了滿足口腹之慾都會在美國餐館裡搓一頓。這個時候怎麼能不會點餐，在同學朋友面前當眾出糗捏？
那麼在美國餐館都該如何點餐呢？都該怎麼用英語表達呢？
面對迎賓員：
迎賓員：「How many will you be tonight?」 或 「How many people are in your party?」
用餐者：「Just two」 或「two people」.
點飲料：
服務員: 「Can I bring you some water?」 or 「Can I get you some water?」 或者「Would you like tap or bottled water?」
用餐者: 「Sure, we』ll have some water please. Tap is fine.」 或者「Yes. I』d like some bottled water pls」
點沙拉：
用餐者： 「I』d like to have the chef』s salad, please.」
服務員： 「What kind of [salad] dressing would you like?」
用餐者：: 「What are my options?」或 「What kind of salad dressings do you have?」
服務員: 「We have:
Balsamic Vinaigrette
Blue cheese dressing
Caesar dressing
French dressing
Ginger dressing
Honey Dijon
Italian dressing
Ranch dressing
Russian dressing
Thousand Island dressing」
用餐者： 「I』ll have Caesar dressing, please.」
點餐：
服務員: 「Would you like to hear the specials for tonight?」 或者「We have some specials this evening…」
服務員: 「Are you ready to order?」
服務員: 「Do you have any questions about the menu?」
用餐者: 「We』re ready to order. I』d like to have the steak please.」
服務員: 「How would you like that done?」 or 「How would you like that cooked?」
用餐者: 「Medium, please.」
肉根據燒熟程度分類，分為 ： 微熟/中熟to熟透
rare –> medium rare –> medium –> medium well –> well done
出於健康考慮，有些餐館至少會將肉加工到中熟。
小夥伴們在點餐的時候可能用到的單詞：
Appetizer: The small dish before your main course.
開胃菜：在正餐前食用的。
Bill: Also called 「the check,」 this tells you how much you need to pay for your meal.
賬單：又叫check，是告訴你需要支付多少飯錢的憑證。
Booster seat: A child』s seat placed on a chair to allow the child to sit at the table (see also high chair).
墊高椅：為孩子設置的，安放在椅子上幫助孩童夠得著桌子。
Bus boy: The person who cleans the tables and dishes off of the table.
餐廳幫手：收拾桌子上的雜物和盤子的人。
Check: The check is also called the bill. It tells you how much you have to pay for your meal.
賬單：也就是Bill，告訴你需要支付的飯錢的憑證。
Dessert: The last sweet dish of the night, after your entrée. (Notice that it is spelled with 2 「s」s.
甜點：晚餐上的最後一道甜菜，在你的主菜之後。
Entrée: The main course.
間菜：也就是主菜。
High chair: The chair a baby sits in (see also booster seat).
高腳椅子：小孩子用餐時坐的椅子。
Hostess/Maitre d』: The person at the front of the restaurant who greets you and seats you at a table.
女迎賓員：在餐館前面跟你打招呼安排你就座的人。
Menu: the list of food and drink options available to order.
菜單：關於飲料還有食物的單子，你可以照著這個單子點餐。
Party: The number of people who will be sitting at your table.
派對：一群人聚在一個桌子上共同用餐的聚會。
Tip: Usually 15% (20% in New York City) of the bill. Waiters and waitresses rely on this money as their income. Also called gratuity.
小費：一般是你要支付的賬單的15%，紐約市是20%，這是餐館服務人員的薪水來源。又叫「gratuity」賞錢。
Waiter/Waitress: The person who takes your order and serves you food
服務員：為你的點餐服務，給你送上食物的人員。
Wine List: The menu showing all of the wine options you have.
酒類一覽表：列出所有的酒，你可以按單點酒。
