Hi ! I』m Lucie. I』m French and I come from Martinique, a beautiful island in the French Caribbean. I』m a graphic designer and also an illustrator.

大家好，我是Lucie。我是一個法國女孩，來自Martinique（馬提尼克島）。這是法國加勒比海一個十分漂亮的島嶼。我是一名平面設計師也是插畫師。

I have been in Shanghai for 6 years. I came to work for a French e-commerce company as a web designer. Since then, I have worked in some other e-commerce companies like 魅力惠,Glamour Sales where I was the art director. Last year, I became a freelancer to focus more on illustration and also to work more on my own blog, my official Wechat account and my book.

我已經在上海度過六個年頭啦。當初，我在一家電子商務的公司擔任網頁設計師一職。從那時起，我也在其他的電子商務公司就職過，比如Glamour Sales 魅力惠，在這家公司我擔任的是美術指導。去年，我變成了一個自由設計者，目的是為了把更多的精力集中在我自己的博客，官方微信公眾平台以及我的書上。

Do you like China? what are the differences between China and France?

Yes, I love China! That』s why I have been living here for 6 years now!

There are many differences with France. First, the people : Chinese people are open minded, welcoming and curious. I really like that about them.

French people are never happy and they like to complain a lot. There are strikes too often in France. But I』m French, I think I complain a lot too!

當然啦，我很愛中國！這就是為什麼我都已經在上海呆了6年了！

和法國的區別也有很多。首先，中國人民是思想開放的，熱情好客的，也是充滿求知慾的。這幾點是我很喜歡的。

至於法國人，他們好像總是不開心，一直不停地抱怨這抱怨那。而且，他們總是罷工。雖然這樣，我也不可否認，因為我也是法國人，所以我也會經常抱怨。

Then, the food: There are wine and cheese in France, there are noodles and xialongbao in China. Both are so different but still delicious!

The culture: Chinese culture is very intense. When I draw the story of some Chinese legends for my Wechat post, I really feel that it』s poetic, meaningful and beautiful. In France, it』s very different. We don』t have a 5000 years history! It』s a part of China I really like.

還有就是食物：法國有紅酒和乳酪，但中國有麵條和小籠包。它們都是截然不同的東西，但是都好好吃啊！

最後就是文化: 中國文化是很強烈的可以感受到的。當為自己的微信畫某些中國傳奇小故事的時候，我就可以感受到她的詩意，內涵和魅力。而在法國，就很不一樣，因為我們沒有五千年的歷史！這也是我喜歡中國的一個原因。

Why & when you start your profession on illustration art?

I started drawing before I could talk. My father used to do oil painting when I was a kid. He has many books about artists and painters. Their works fascinated me. I found it beautiful and touching, so I wanted to draw as well as them!

I was very lucky to have very open minded parents and when I told them I wanted to do a job that requires drawing and illustration, they encouraged me. That』s how I became a graphic designer. Anyway, what else could I be? I only know how to draw.

不浮誇的說，在我會說話以前，我就已經開始畫畫了。當我小的時候，我父親畫油畫。他有很多關於藝術家和畫家的書籍。我深深的被這些書所吸引。於我而言，我覺得他們都很漂亮也很令人感動，所以，我也想要像他們一樣畫畫。

我也很慶幸我能擁有一對十分開明的父母，當我告訴他們想要將畫畫作為自己的工作時，他們就給予了極大的鼓勵。這就是為什麼我成為了一個平面設計師。要不然，我還能幹啥呢？我就是喜歡畫畫啊~

In your opinion, which is the most important thing to become a illustrator? ( talent, imagination or the observation of life)

I think it』s the passion, perseverance and hardwork. When you are passionate about something, it』s easy to work on it and doesn』t feel it』s work!

在我看來，應該是熱情，堅持不懈以及勤奮。當你對某件事情感興趣的話，就會比較容易上手，而且你也並不會認為這是一份工作。

Would you please give some advices to these people who also like drawing?

I would advice to practice as much as possible. Always carry a sketchbook with you and draw whenever you have time. Draw what』s around you: people, trees, building… just draw and enjoy it!

我想建議大家一定要儘可能多的練習。總是帶一本素描薄在身邊有時間就拿出來畫畫。看見周邊有什麼畫什麼：人，樹，建築... ... 就是畫畫並享受它！
