I think I just discovered why Kyrie is so good at finishing (self.nba)

我認為我剛剛發現了歐文上籃終結能力如此之強的原因。

While I was browsing Youtube today, a video about Kyrie Irving planning a renovation for his father came up. (Here"s a link to the video if you want to watch it lol). So basically they are discussing Kyrie"s childhood and how much this house means to his father when all of a sudden there"s a transitional clip that shows a basketball hoop in their driveway (or backyard???). The square is cutout from the backboard of the hoop. (@9:28)
I can only assume it was one of the basketball hoops Kyrie practiced with as he was growing up. But it would definitely explain a bit of how Kyrie can get the ball in the hoop from any which angle on the backboard!

今天當我正在瀏覽YouTube的時候，一個歐文準備給他父親房子翻新的視頻冒了出來。（鏈接在這裡，https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gh2Jpm7O5Mg 如果你們想看的話，哈哈）。所以視頻里基本上就在討論歐文的童年，以及這所房子對於他父親的意義，但是突然間畫面過渡到了他們車道上的籃球框（或是後院里的？？？）。而籃板上的那塊正方形區域卻沒了。（9:28秒處）

我只能假設這是歐文成長過程中進行過籃球訓練的一個籃筐，但是這也絕對能夠解釋一點為什麼歐文能夠利用籃板上的任何角度把球打進！

He actually has said a few times in the past that the backboard he grew up using was broken so had to get creative with the angles. Although, I"m assuming he was doing that intentionally from the get-go, maybe just enforced it/increased it

Lol reminds me of Lillard, who was so poor growing up he had to shoot on crate bins. Kyrie was the son of a NBA player but was playing on broken hoops.

Kyrie isn"t the son on an NBA player though... His dad was invited to a Celtics free agent camp and got cut lol. He did play in New York Pro amateur league for a bit, as well as the Australia pro league. But this was like 25 years ago, I"m assuming lower leagues didn"t make much money back then. After Kyrie"s mom died they moved back to Jersey and his dad worked as a financial broker on wall street.

然而歐文可不是NBA球員的兒子…他的父親確實被邀請參加過凱爾特人的自由球員訓練營，但是之後被裁了，哈哈哈。他確實在紐約的職業業餘聯盟打過一段時間的球，也在澳大利亞的職業聯賽里打過一段時間。但是那是25年前的事情了，我感覺當時在低級的聯盟里打球應該賺不了多少錢。當歐文的母親去世後，他們搬到了新澤西，然後他的父親作為一名金融行業的經紀人在華爾街工作。

That"s probably how I"d raise my kids if I was rich.

Raise them as if they"re not rich. Maybe not broke ass poor, but certainly not rich. I think it makes them hungrier and tougher while developing character. My parents did the same shit to me (strangely not so much to my sister).

不管怎麼說，我喜歡歐文的父親。

這也可能是如果我富裕了之後培養自己孩子的方式。

培養他們時讓他們感覺到自己並不富裕，也許並不是超級賤養他們，但是顯然不能讓他們感到自己有錢。我覺得這樣能讓他們養成對成功更饑渴，更堅強的性格。我父母對我就做了一模一樣的事情（奇怪的是對我的妹妹卻不怎麼這樣做）。

I was never a huge Kyrie fan, but it seemed like he was brought up the right way and has some character and humility to him.

Iirc Kyrie also said he developed his handles by putting the balll inside a plastic bag and doing dribbling drills with it (so its harder to grip)

I think a dope idea for a commercial would be to show a montage of young Kyrie doing all these obscure drills to improve his bball skills. Like some 36 Chambers of Shaolin type shit lool.. he does shooting drills with a live catfish instead of a ball. Blindfolds himself and dribbles through a wooded forest crossing up alll the trees . Chops down his own wood and carries it for miles back home to build his own court

如果我沒記錯的話，歐文也說過他通過把球放在塑料袋裡去進行練習來提高自己的運球技巧（因為這樣更難以去控制球）。

我感覺你可以拍一個非常棒的廣告，便是展示年輕的歐文通過各種艱難的運球訓練去提高自己的籃球技巧。比如運球同時打打少林36式咯，訓練投籃時用活的鯰魚去代替籃球咯，帶上眼罩運球穿越一大片森林，變向過掉各種樹木咯…以及自己砍下那些木頭然後帶著它們回到幾英里外的家裡，建造自己的籃球場。

I"m pretty sure he"s gone on record saying he"s had shitty backboards and was forced to get creative. Awesome to see how circumstances pushed some players to develop a specific way. Like Wall said he did not develop a jumper because he was so much faster and bigger than his competition.

I heard he used to stand under the basket with weights on his feet and he would have to keep shooting layups there using his wrists and arms for angles.
